Re: Match of the Day spinoff show MOTDx cancelled
Under its charter the bbc is required to present things for all ages, demographics etc so there are boxes to be ticked.
I susoect this was commissioned by a bunch of middle aged white guys who thought they knew what the 'KIDS' wanted.
Suspect their potential audience is small or doesnt watch much network tv

The debate on Football Focus is interesting
Suspect the viewing audience has plummeted and the BBC doesnt want to admit that the previous audience thinks its turned to shit once the presenters have to be non-white, lesbian or preferably both.

Football focus is almost exactly what Marvel have done with their films and TV shows. Disregard their actual target audience who made them a success by concentrating on trying to make content for an audience they decide they want to pander to but who almost all don't actually give a shit about the content and never will. Net result you lose all your faithful audience by alienating them and you don;t make any gain because the people you're targeting just never cared.

Funny. Of all the excuses they bring out to blame the crash in viewing numbers having a black lesbian broadcasting to football fans never gets mentioned

Don't you think it's a bit (extremely) weird that someone stops watching a programme because they don't like the ethnicity/gender/sexuality of the presenter?

Viewing habits/tastes have changed. Most of us are constantly on the internet so don't need a weekly 'magazine' show (and some like me were never interested anyway). That's why people aren't watching FF. They're not watching this other thing because it's targeted at an audience who don't want that programme. They tried; they failed.

Yet again, you're completely missing the point.

No one is not watching because they don't like the ethnicity/gender/sexuality of the presenters, the problem is these presenters getting the gigs specifically because of being one or all of those things, and not because they are good at the job.

As an example, I doubt anyone would have a problem with Gabby Logan presenting anything, because she's really good. Alex Scott, on the other hand, no doubt a lovely girl, but by fuck she is appalling on TV, horrendously bad. Which is why people are turning off.

That's your opinion though. I think she's fantastic and I'm pleased they shove her in front of just about anything.
